Our last app update included a much requested feature: In-game web browser support. Let’s take a closer look at how this works.
Right now we officially support about 100 games, which means we have tested this new feature on all those games. Some of the more popular games we support include World of Warcraft, StarCraft 2, Call of Duty (various versions), The Sims, Left 4 Dead (both versions) Lunia, and Company of Heroes. We even support indie favorites such as World of Goo and Mini Ninjas!
Activating the in-game browser feature is easy. If your game is supported, just play the game as you usually would, and anytime you want our in-game support features turned on, hit SHIFT+TAB (or whatever hotkey you have set it to). To check out the web browser feature just click the “Web Browser” button in the bottom right corner on our Raptr app – that’s it! We’ll be updating the in-game browser to make it even better, so stay tuned.
So why have in-game browser support? For big and complex games like World of Warcraft, you can now go online and look up strategies to help you through a tough spot, without having to exit the game. If you’re expecting an email, you can quickly check your inbox while in the middle of a game.
The list of games we support is just the tip of the iceberg. Every week we’re adding more games to our “officially” supported list. If we don’t support in-game yet on your favorite game and you want it, let us know. It’ll help us prioritize what gets done first.
Remember, we love feedback! Because this a new feature, if you do run into any issues, please let us know in our forums.
